Kastelino Daycare is a small, family-run facility in the heart of Mainz-Kastel. In two lovingly designed groups of 15 children each, from age 3 until they start school, we create a safe and nurturing environment where every child feels seen, understood, and individually supported.

Our daily routine is characterized by closeness, structure, and active guidance – with plenty of space for movement, creativity, and personal development.

30 Spots

A safe and secure environment for 30 children in two groups – very family-like.

2 Groups

Children and adults aged 3 and up can let off steam in two bright group rooms.

A natural garden and child-friendly play areas offer children diverse outdoor spaces for experience.

Penguins: Mixed-age group for children between 2-7 years old (15 children) | Butterflies: For children between 3-7 years old (25 children)

SchuWiDu
(Preschool)

The "Schuwidu's" ("Schulkind wirst du" translates to "becoming a schoolchild") are prepared for school in their final year of kindergarten in an age-appropriate group for about an hour daily. Projects are offered, which can vary each year.

Our Motivation

We are parents ourselves and were faced with the question of the right childcare for our children. We quickly realized that the offer in Mainz is very limited and that anyone would be lucky to get a childcare place at the time they need.

We have therefore decided to become active ourselves and set up a bilingual kindergarten in our city that is recognized by the city of Mainz.

1How can I register my child?
If you would like to register your child with us, you must first register with Wikita. There is also a registration form that you must fill out if you are interested.
2Can I visit the daycare center before registering my child?
Of course, you can visit the daycare center beforehand. Please call us in advance to schedule a visit. We can then arrange a meeting. These usually take place on Thursdays at 10:00 a.m. with a small group of interested people. During the meeting, you'll learn about our educational approach, have the opportunity to ask questions, and be shown around the facilities. We look forward to meeting you and your child!
3How much does a daycare spot cost?
The cost for a daycare place is as follows:
  • 3-7 years: €325.00 without state subsidy, €120.00 with state subsidy for 6 hours of care
  • Meals: €100.00 (includes breakfast, lunch, snack, and drinks)
  • One-time registration fee: €140.00
  • Crafts fee: €5.00 per month
Fees are collected via SEPA direct debit. Diapers and care products for the youngest children are included in the cost.
